A little about why Tea and Soap Cakes has not been on
I had moved to a new area, one I thought I would be able to study in. Well I was able and was about half way through one course and started on the others. A new development of the selling of the home and off moving again. Well now I had to find and regain my thinking about studying. I finished 8 courses and now auditing courses again. Thank you to the viewers who kept peeking in. Yes, one was physics But this reminded me of the free form drawing in the Intro to Engineering

The Cat Who...
Cookbook by Lillian Jackson Braun
The Cat Who Could Read Backwards
Mountclemen's Dinner
Then came a bittersweet chocolate dessert
with a velvet texture, and Qwilleran felt
miraculously in harmony with a world in
which art critics could cook like French
chefs and cats could read... Later they had
small cups of Turkish coffee in the living room,
and Mountclemens said, "How are you enjoying `
your new milieu?"
A La Carte
Wednesday morning Qwilleran went
upstairs with the plane ticket and
knocked on Mountlemen's door.
"Good mrning, Mr. Qwilleran...
I hope you're not in a hurry. I have
a ramekin of eggs with herbs and sour
cream, ready to put in the oven, if you
can wait. And some chicken livers and
bacon en brochette."
" For that I can wait," said Qwilleran.
" The table is set in the kitchen, and we
can have a compote of fresh pineapple
while we keep an eye on the broiler...I
dry my own herbs," Mountclemens explained.
" Do you appreciate a little mint marinated with
pineapple? I think it gives the fruit another
dimension. Pineapple can be a little too direct.
Well Easter is coming up and for having ham goes this recipe.
Pineapple Compote
________________
1 fresh pineapple (about 4 cups)
2 teaspoons dried mint
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Sounds tempting
Qwilleran had just experienced the
first forkful of chicken livers rolled in
bacon and seasoned with a touch of basil,
and he rolled his eyes greatfully
heavenward.

The Cat Who...
Cookbook by Lillian Jackson Braun
The Cat Who Could Read Backwards
Mountclemen's Dinner
"We've got news for you, Jim. We called
Mountclemens to make an appointment for you,
and he wants you to go tomorrow night. To dinner!"
"And now I believe we are ready for the soup."
[said Mountclemens] The critic drew aside some dark
red velvet curtains. An aroma of lobster greeted
Qwilleran in the dining alcove. Plates of soup, thick and
creamy were placed on a bare table that looked hundreds
of years old. Thick candles burned in iron holders.
Mountclemens removed the soup plates and brought in a
tureen of chicken in a dark and mysterious sauce.
Well it wouldn't be mysterious if I were to give you that recipe,
now would it? Oh... but I just read what is in that sauce... purrrr
I will definitely be trying that one. An it ain't for felines.
Lobster Bisque
___________
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups milk
1 bay leaf
1 boiled lobster or 2 small boiled
lobster tails cut into bite-sized chunks
2 cups cream
salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons of sherry
I can tell by the ingredients this works out fine.
Especially because it adds wine.
Lobster tails are cheap right now at 2.99 each
I don't know where the liquor store is.
but I am sure there is one around somewhere.
Regular instructions. On to the story.
"By the way, I hope you like Ceasar Salad,"
[Mountclemens said]. It was a man's salad,
zesty and full of crunch."

A little Shakespearean Purhaps
So we start at the end and we begin
at the beginning.
The Cat Who...
Cookbook By Lillian Jackson Braun
And I must say I like her style.
A Special Note To The Reader
At last! A cookbook with a sense of
humor, as well as great recipes
from cooks and restaraunts in Moose
County and Down Below.
At last! We learn the secret of Mrs. Cobb's
meatloaf and macaroni and cheese.
At last! Qwilleran may be inspired to try his hand at
food presentation. He will start with- guess what!
Lilian Jackson Braun
The Cat Who Could Read Backwards
Quilleran acquires a Siamease cat named
Kao K'o-Kung, aka Koko, under unusual
circumstances. Perhaps it would be more
accurate to say Koko acquired a human
named Qwilleran, aka a journalist. Together
they solve a murder in the world of modern art.
Wonder how important these re..er...catcipes are to
to the plot? Due to cost restraints I won't be making all
of the reci..catcipes.. but I am intrigued by the lemon
meringue so I will be attempting their
recipe...catcipe. Also see if this artist renditions of
fact produces results.

I know it is not much
Lays is having a contest in Canada to Name the Flavor. The prize is 50,000 plus 1%. We have had the recent passing of Stompin' Tom Connors who made PEI potatoes famous in Bud The Spud and The Hockey Song. If we put the two together we come up with a skating rink and gear trust fund. Just my line of reasoning anyway. And they know it! I even gave a suggestion to where the first one should be.

L'important c'est la rose To Aunt Rose and Uncle Archie
When you find you're all
alone
And the doubts of love have
found you
Though the clouds are all
around you
There's a
rose
Love will come and love will
go
Do not waste another
hour
There is beauty in a
flower
Like the
rose
L'important c'est la
rose...
Every one must play our
part
In this world that keeps on
spinning
And the time will come for
winning
If we wait
There's a petal and a
thorn
There is beauty in each
flower
And we all must stay
together
Like the
rose
For as sure as there's the
sky
And the Sun so high above
us
There is one who's meant to
love us
In this
world
There is rhythm to our
lives
There is rhyme and there is
reason
And we all must bide our
season
Like the
rose

A restatement of facts
When a country views my blog, I am shown in the stats. I look up that country and other things and I have been shown so many new and exciting things. I learn some history and geograghy, also new techniques. Not neccessarily in soap or cooking. My interests are varied. So I really do thank the countries for viewing as I would not know this stuff otherwise.

I have moved into a very big place with a large kitchen and counter height my grandmother would love. Patiently getting my things in order to start making soap and other things.
I now have my printer so I should be able to resume my studies.. which I will commence again now.

A little history on tea
More important is what afternoon tea does for the blood. But that is later on.
Tea to the United Kingdom
lol Thank you United Kingdom for viewing my blog. That looks so much like my old buffet.
In with the new and....wait?
New fridge today.
I now have a new glass cutting board (large enough to roll out pie crust) and a small glass board for small jobs. The racks will be for drying soap and pull out vegie drawers will hold soap making supplies or whatever ( there are three). The old fridge had many usable parts.
It takes time to move into an apartment. And this one is very nice. With over 600 square feet at my disposal, the tools I have available, and resourses within the community I should be pretty busy if I want to be.
Now to make my sofa bed. I sold my African Mahogany Rose carved sofa and I need something. Won't be as elaborate, but serviceable yes. Maybe I will make it into a Murphy bed. I will decide when I have the stuff here.
